Its 2024 and muscle cars from the 60`s and 70`s are showing their outdated design compared to the superior design and performance of modern Muscle cars. Big chunky chrome bumpers, terrible handling and braking, poor performance, and odd designs from passengers family cars made into muscle cars with big engines and graphics. This car is a fine example of a true performance car. It was designed with Mark Donahue for one goal in mind, to win the trans am racing series in 1971. The humps on the fenders and quarter panels were designed to fit oversized tires for the track. Not to copy the corvette as many enthusiasts believe. Front and back spoilers for High speeds. Aerodynamic Hood and functional cowl induction system for more power. Wide Stance for superior handling on the track. The 71 401 was no slouch. It was a HD engine with forged crank and rods, 10:25 compression, dog leg racing heads, Free Flow exhaust that cranked out 345hp.
